PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PARTICIPATING Participant Disclaimer and Waiver of Liability By attending or participating in the North Texas White Cane Safety Day Walk (the “Event”), you agree to the following terms: 1. Voluntary Participation & Assumption of Risk Participation is entirely voluntary. The Event may involve walking along public routes, sidewalks, and gathering areas, which may present risks such as uneven surfaces, weather exposure, and vehicular traffic. Participants, including those who are blind, visually impaired, or accompanying others, understand and accept these inherent risks. 2. Personal Responsibility All participants are responsible for their own well-being during the Event. Individuals requiring assistance (such as a guide, caregiver, or mobility aid) are encouraged to attend with appropriate support. Participants agree to follow all instructions provided by Event staff and local authorities and to comply with relevant laws and traffic rules. 3. Release of Liability By participating, you agree to release and hold harmless the organizers of the North Texas White Cane Safety Day Walk, including any sponsoring organizations, volunteers, vendors, and associated partners, from any and all claims for injuries, losses, or damages—whether to person or property—arising out of or in connection with your participation. 4. Medical Emergency In the event of a medical emergency, you authorize the Event organizers to seek emergency medical treatment on your behalf, and you accept responsibility for any associated medical costs. 5. Minors Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult, who accepts full responsibility for the minor’s safety and compliance with this waiver. 6. Media Consent The Event may be photographed or recorded. By attending, you consent to the use of your image, voice, or likeness in promotional and informational materials, unless you notify organizers in writing before the start of the Event. 7. Event Modifications Organizers reserve the right to modify, postpone, or cancel the Event due to inclement weather, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances. By participating in the North Texas White Cane Safety Day Walk, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this disclaimer and waiver of liability.
